DJ JOSE's STEPPING TO THE BEAT is the driving vehicle! Enjoy the ride!

House music was initially popularized in Chicago, circa 1984. In the mid-to-late 1980s, house music became popular in Europe, and then other major cities in North America, South America, and Australia. Early house music commercial success in Europe saw songs such as "Pump Up The Volume" by MARRS (1987), "House Nation" by House Master Boyz and the Rude Boy of House (1987), "Theme from S'Express" by S'Express (1988) and "Doctorin' the House" by Coldcut (1988) in the pop charts. Since the early to mid-1990s, house music has been infused in mainstream pop and dance music worldwide.

Since then, House Music has evolved into different genres from Disco to Electro; from Funky to Deep; from Soulful to Tek!

My mix STEPPING TO THE BEAT tries to showcase this evolution by including some of the greatest and iconic house tracks! It is impossible to include every classic but I hope this mix covers most of the genres.

Ok, you could say I like a kind of electronic flow and these are more EDM tracks, but listen to them ! A lot of great remixes, extended versions and many original mixes of productions in this mix !

It starts with the DISCO BOYS classic remix of Manfred Mann's Earth Band ! I like the crazy filter works and the stomping beat of this remix ! I have thought a good opener !

Then the DREAM DANCE production, it is a series here in Germany, I like that Glockenspiel ! The Scotty remix then is a EDM work of a German classic !

The GREAT remix with the voice of ARETHA FRANKLIN ! What a fantastic work !

And so on ! I have bought ALL NEW and mixed it then ! Funky works, good ideas - I have searched long for good tracks in many samplers and charts again !

So I think a BLITHESOME JOURNEY, not deep, but very varied with many vocals !

I hope you will like the journey !
