Maybe it’s just that Royksopp track, but more likely it's all the post-apocalyptic chatter, the endless video feed, real and fantasy, featuring terrorism and war, climate change and disease, a staggering economy (and, of course, zombies) that pried the lid up off a corner of my mind and let in... the dark.

Because lately I've been being haunted by that mind game: What if, right now, you're living your last happy moments, but you have NO IDEA.... Someday, when things have gone totally south, you'll look back and think: God, that was a great time! Hopefully, you won’t be asking yourself: How could I have missed it, how good that was?
