13) Bon Iver - Holocene 54:19
Bon Iver's Holocene has to have been one of the more enthusiastically-played sounds of the past decade and it's tricky to want to use a track which, while it is certainly very good, is still something that most mainstream music listeners are tired of hearing, even five years on. So in essence, I have to create a safe space for this track, where -- when it finally drops -- it is an absolute treat to hear, refreshing as a glass of cold water after a bowl of oatmeal. Because, make no mistake, Holocene is a good song and a relentless earworm to boot.
The changelings helping us get to Holocene’s moment in this mix include Jetty, FKA twigs, Jonn Serrie, All India Radio, Jan Garbarek, Brian Eno and more.
Just one metamorphosis among many which might reshape our immediate futures.
