Hello and welcome to Tasty Burger Disco Vol 10 "Umami". This month's session is quite a bit different than previous ones More funk, more soul, and and expanded forms of disco... thus the name "Umami" or all the senses. I really wanted to get all the mid ranges of eclectic soulful disco in on this one and up expand the aural palate. The BPM starts at 111 and finishes around 122. To get things moving it was all about the MJ classic "Baby Be Mine". Man this song is just amazing, and so timeless. The next track of mention showed up about 3 or 4 weeks ago that I simply could't to share on TBD 10 Jean Claude Gavri's rework of‪ "California Dreamin'‬ is simply incredible music. (‪Jose Feliciano's re-did the track into a latin version back in 1968.‬smile Next up the Drop Out Orchestra everything they touch turns to gold. Their "It Will Never Be The Same Again" cut brings about a Daft Punk vibe, with an intense level nu disco and electric soul. Their vibe is totally unique and stands alone. Do any of you remember the Tom Browne anthem "Funkin for Jamaica"? Elijah Collins & TEEJ do a proper re-edit with their "J Funk" version of the song. The bass line is so incredibly funky... wow!

Another track of mention is Flight Facilities "Foreign Language". This has to be one of the best original vocals I've heard in years incredible in every way. Lastly, the mix is finished off with The Stylistics track "People Make the World Go Round". It was originally released in 1971 and still keeps the disco soul energy going strong. Well that's it for TBD 10 I hope you enjoy the tunes.

Cheers,
Dustin
