This latest mix opens with an old favorite of mine, "Deee-Lite - Groove Is In The Heart". I had thought I would just sample the very beginning of the song, but ended up using the entire track (if I can call it that). I basically spliced the track, making my own remixed version. That lays the foundation that the rest of the mix is built upon.
Using MixMeister, a netbook, and a mouse, I did a considerable amount of splicing, looping, and sampling throughout the entirety of the mix...including extensive cross fades and overlays (often three tracks deep). But, I didn't want the technical to overshadow the musicality...the "groovitudity". I tried to hold true to my intended vibe...
