About Me
Gene Santiago was born & raised in the Bronx, New York. He started DJing in the Summer of 1975 when while at a party, the DJ got ill and he stepped in. After that experience he was hooked...
Coming up during the 70's and early 80's you'd catch him spinning at various Hot-Spots around the NY/NJ Metro Area. If it was a Club in Manhattan or the Block Parties in the Bronx he was there at the forefront experimenting with different sounds and introducing New Music to the Masses.
In the mid 80's he embarked on a Radio Career and headed west to Los Angeles to produce several successful Radio Shows and landed an A&R job with Capital Records/EMI America. In 1989 he started his own Promotions Company and worked with several Independent Dance Labels.
Having been exposed to a wide variety of ethnic & global genres, DJ Gene Santiago has always been the Trend Setter of Dance Music. Since the beginning, he has experienced the morph of Disco, Funk, Soul, Rap, and Salsa in the 70's, Dance Pop, Alte
