It must be almost 25 years ago when a friend took me to a club called "The iT" on saturday night ...
I think I do not exaggerate saying it must be one of of the most kinky clubs ever to be established in Amsterdam.
At that moment I wasn't a real house lover yet. To be honest, I had only heard of it shortly before but my mate promised me the girls would be worth it ....
...When entering the vibe was already superb with an almost horny electric vibe. The resident DJ was nobody less then DJ Jean (a pretty famous dutch DJ who made some solid tracks and even a worldwide hit later in his carreer). Remember, I'm talking about 25 years ago when the average resident DJ was not much more then "a track selector.."
..Checking the club I noticed the girls present were very occupied with the same gender (which wasn't surprising as later that evening I found out the club was all gay on saturday night. My mate and me just found our way through the door as he knew the bouncers very well...)
..I bit shy I checked around not knowing where to watch as a lot of stuff was going on which definitely deserves the label XXX. I was glad nobody was paying attention to this shy boy who was visiting for the first time.
..After some time I cautiously moved forward to the dance floor and not much later the music absorbed my mind completely. I will never forget it but this was the first time in my life I got high without smokin' a joint...!
...As of that night the passion for house music was born and all though "straight of nature", the iT became my saturday night hot spot for a couple of years to come...
..Once in a while when my "old bones" have the craving for some serious beats I go hunting for the tracks which make my body and mind melt together like 25 years ago...
I prefer dark deephouse and progressive, tech and techno mostly drivin by a Bass melody (instead of the more trance like melody lines..). And I must admit I am a sucker for really good sleazy vocal parts...
