Afro – Tech, Soul, & Deep, with ‘afro’ in this case being Angolas traditional sounds of Semba, Kizomba and kuduro, neatly threaded with classic soul and R&B, are the only way to describe Eddhi Cheq’s prodcutions. They’re a veritable mashup of influences that seduce the audience with familiarity and a sense of the new all at the same time. Earlier production work uploaded to soundcloud brought the attention of some familiar names in the UK scene – D-Malice (DM Recordings) and St Dennis from Aluku Records; so unless you’ve been living under a rock you could not excape the call to the dance floor from his African Skies, Sumbandilla and Wake Up remixes. In a short space of time he signed to DM Recordings and delivered Ardente his debut EP to much support from reknowned artist such as Rancido, Jonny Miller and Djeff Afrozilla.

Bootleg mixes of tracks from R&B royalty Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, R Kelly & Miguel spread his sound to a wider audience as only good songs and great music can. The creation of the Mwango RC movement with Miguel Lin, another talented producer and DJ, ensures that we will be able to tap into the sounds of Eddhi Cheq and the DJs that excite him through their online 30 Minutes of Mwango podcast. In the mean time Eddhi Cheq provides the guest mix for this Thursdays BANGtheDRUMS show and we wait patiently for upcoming releases on Djeff Afrozilla’s Kazakuta label and UK based DM Recordings. #KeepItBANG for more from this talented DJ/Producer.

Tracks and remixes are available to buy from traxsource, beatport
