About Me
'Music is my life’ is the catch-cry of dynamic female DJ, Jehan El-dabbagh (aka DJ Allura). Born in London, England, Jehans’ passion for music started from birth and she has since dedicated her life to the music industry.
As a young passionate musician, Jehan absorbed all things music. By age 14, Jehan was attending gigs as a singer, going to open-mic nights and hounding DJ’s to teach her the tools of the trade.
Scouted at age 15 by an A&R Executive for EMI Publishing, the teenager was signed by EMI for two years to write, co-write and record with EMI producers across a multitude of genres. Working with top end recording studios, producers and studio engineers, Jehan was able to cement her career in the UK music scene.
A background in R&B and soul, Jehan learnt to quickly appreciate all genres of music. Her diversity in music caught the attention of Head of Publishing at EMI Records and she was asked to be lead vocal for an Eric Prydz track, “Pianno”.
Jehan began collaborating with ‘’House’’ Producer/DJ known in music circles as “RayFoxx” for The Trumpeter fame. During this time, a track Jehan wrote and featured on called “Touch” (produced by RayFoxx ft Definity) received airtime on BBC Radio 1, Asian network and other stations.
Further success followed with “Dare You”, which was featured on the Ministry of Sound Compilation Album. This album reached No.2 in the UK Dance Charts and No.1 in the UK Compilation charts.
Riding the wave of success, Jehan jumped at the opportunity to travel the world when she was offered a job from leading Agency EL-Live Productions as lead singer for a seven piece band “Transit”. The group spent the next three years travelling and performing in the Middle East Asia, Bangkok, China, Malaysia and Singapore.
During her time in the clubs, Jehan made it her goal to learn as much as possible about the world of DJ’s. She surrounded herself with hugely talented DJ’s, and was inspired to learn more about their work, their talent for mixing music and their ability to move the crowd.
Jehan is already causing a stir within the DJ community all thanks to her ability to create vibrant sets. Her outgoing personality is infectious and her work ethic second to none.
Currently, located in Asia, DJ Allura is already becoming a name throughout the club circuit with her R&B and Hip Hop sets. Her Deep House mixes are also becoming hugely popular amongst partygoers.
At 27, Jehan is set to put female DJ’s on the map in Asia…..next stop the rest of the world!
